Pakistani Neuroscientist, Dr Aafia Siddiqui was assaulted in Texas Prison. Aafia’s lawyer, Marwa Elbially made the news public. Reports claim that she has been enduring a serious assault during the eleventh year of her arrest. The victim is calling out for public support, mentioned her lawyer.

Aafia Siddiqui, a mother of three is sentenced to 86 years in Texas Prison due to attempted murder in New York. However, the case appears to be a mystery for the Pakistani nation till now. To know the details about the neuroscientist, keep reading the article.

How Was Aafia Siddiqui Assaulted in the Prison?

According to CAGE, on 30th July 2021, they received some reports from the victim’s lawyer. It claimed that an inmate had attacked Aafia Siddiqui. Moreover, the inmate has been attacking the victim for a long time. They also mentioned that the person threw a mug filled with a very hot liquid directly into her face.

The attack caused several burns around the eyes. Further, a 3-inch scar was seen on her left eye. Moreover, her legs and hands also had bruises due to the attack. Hence, Aafia Siddiqui’s lawyer mentioned that she is calling out for public help as she is in severe pain.

The serious assault led to excruciating pain which made the victim fold into a fetal position while bearing the assault. After the attack, she was not even able to get up on her own. Hence, a wheelchair helped her in locomotion.

Her lawyer, Marwa Elbially has been meeting her since 2021 after her family asked the US authorities if she was even alive. However, she has been living in a very painful situation as she mentioned that,

“The fact that I’m not blind is a miracle from Allah,”

After the assault, they have placed her in solitary confinement. So, physically she is isolated now.

Pakistanis Responding to Aafia Siddiqui’s Attack!

Since the news broke out, Pakistanis became outraged. The hashtag “Aafia’s life in danger” started trending on Twitter. Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan raised his voice against the attack. Moreover, he mentioned that her life is in danger and urged the people to raise their voices against the brutality.

People also asked the rulers to correct the mistakes of their past and ask the US to release Dr Aafia Siddiqui. All the citizens highly condemned the vicious attack at the neuroscientist Aafia Siddiqui.

Aafia Siddiqui’s case remains one of the most troubling in the sordid history of the “War on Terror.” As events in Afghanistan, where so much of Aafia’s case began – unfurl with such speed, we need to ask if Pakistani authorities will seek her repatriation while she’s still alive, or only after she’s in a body bag.
