Why World Test championship Idea was scrapped in 2008:

In 2008, to re-develop interest in Tests, a test championship formula was initiated by ICC. However, Cricket Boards gave a cold response and broadcasters too weren’t in favor of this. The reason? Broadcasters gave the reason that if India couldn’t manage to get a place in the final, there won’t be much revenue generation. India, a country of 1.3 Billion people, has also the world’s richest cricket board. Moreover, the process to qualify was complicated. It still is, but think of it as a miracle that the idea was approved and came into effect two years ago.

Weather Forecast between World Test Championship Final:

There is slightly Bad news for cricket fans. The first day of the final will face heavy rain. It is highly unlikely that 90 overs will be bowled on the first day. Continuous interruption is inevitable on the first day. But the good news is ICC has fixed the sixth day as a backup day if rain weeps on the first five days. This should make up time for bad weather.

Conditions of Southampton for India and New Zealand:

Due to the heatwave in England, the Southampton pitch was dry. This would have favored Indian spinners. But on 17 June, rain falls on the ground. This has caused conditions to be damp and air to be cold- just like New Zealand’s climate. Thus, conditions are now in favor of New Zealand.
