This ambition is a joint program of the World Health Organization and the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness. Lions Clubs International Association is also actively performing best to organize events and develop awareness about eye health and World Sight Day. Lions clubs around the world organize sight-related projects each year. These projects include vision screenings, eyeglass contributions, therapeutic surgeries, eye health instruction platforms, and the donation of supporting devices to people with vision trauma.
On October 13, 2016, the Armenian Eye Care Project (AECP) celebrated World Sight Day in Armenia. Its main purpose was to improve global awareness of blindness and vision suffering. World Sight Day event was held on 11 October 2018 at Pakistan Institute of Community Ophthalmology (PICO) Ground. The objective was to raise global awareness on the issue of blindness and sight defects.
