Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced Undergraduate Studies Admission Test 2021 for getting admissions in all Pakistani Universities. Education Testing Council (ETC) will conduct this test at the undergraduate level in all universities operating in Pakistan. The USAT will cover all the disciplines at the undergraduate level. It is designed on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
HEC introduced this test at that time when many universities have started their Entrance Tests. In this way, the announcement of this test has become the cause of confusion among students. Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Studies Admission Test:
- Students who have passed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent are eligible.
- Students who appeared in the final exams and now are waiting for their results are eligible.
- Also, students having 12 years of education in any discipline are eligible.
How to Apply for Undegraduate Studies Admission Test?
- For registration, the candidates will visit the official website of the Higher Education Commission.
- The procedure of submission of application consists of two steps.
- Firstly, profile completion using the section of “My Profile”.
- Secondly, the submission of applications using “Undergraduate Studies Admission Test”.
- Links are available on the Menu Panel on the left-hand sidebar of the Online Portal.
- However, the candidates must submit their applications online before the last date. Because only submitted applications will be considered. However, the SAVE or INCOMPLETE applications will not be considered.
HEC USAT 2021 Registration & Test Date:
The last date for online registration is 1st September 2021 Whereas the test will conduct on 12th September 2021.
Fee Structure for Undergraduate Studies Admission Test:
- Each candidate will pay the fee of Rs.1200/-
- The candidates will deposit the USAT fee in Habib Bank Limited.
- Account No: 1742 7900 1334 01.
- Account Title: Higher Education Commission
- The candidates will send the copy of the fee deposit slip/online transfer/ATM through courier before the last date at the following address; Member’s House, HEC Sector H-8, Islamabad.
- The test fee is non-refundable as well as non-transferable.
Test Pattern of Undergraduate Studies Admission Test:
Part I
- Number of Test Items (75 MCQs)
- Time Allowed: 100 Minutes
- Verbal Reasoning: 35
- Quantitative Reasoning: 40
Part II
- Time Allowed: 40 Minutes
- Essay Writing Skills 400 to 500 words (students may write in English as well as Urdu): 25
The qualifying score is 50 or above. The maximum anyone can score on USAT would be the perfect score of 100.
The USAT is initially proposed on a quarterly basis in some major cities of Pakistan to be held simultaneously. However, more tests can be arranged if the need existed.
ETC will upload the yearly calendar of USAT on the official website of the Education Testing Council. The candidates may register themselves through the Online Registration Portal.
Is HEC USAT Compulsory?
This test is not compulsory as mentioned in the advertisement that universities can conduct their admissions independently. If the universities need some admission tests then they can conduct HEC USAT. However, it is totally up to them. As of now, no university has announced that it will be going to conduct admissions based on USAT. Most of the universities also have conducted their entrance tests.
