Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has always been in the news for his controversial statements. Mostly, his statements are against Feminists. In the past, his quarrel with Marvi Sarmad made headlines. Now, his insensitive comments about Noor Mukadam’s murder are again circulating in media. He tweeted his opinion which did not sit well with many. Khalil ur Rehman Qamar on Murder of Noor Mukadam:
Khalil ur Rehman Qamar made insensitive and toxic comments on the deceased Noor Mukadam. He tweeted that whenever the feminist movement (in Pakistan) is about to die, why is it that any Noor is killed and evil like Zahir Jaffer appears on the scene.
This is certainly an insensitive comment and will surely not get sit well with people related to media.
He tried to clarify later that he did not mean to blame anybody but it seems like it is too late. People are bashing him on Twitter. Even those who used to be his supporters do not agree with him. He then again replied to a tweet that he does not want the accused to escape.
These comments are, without a doubt, distasteful. One can also say it is an insult to the deceased family.
Culture Journalist Rafay Mahmood responded to Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s tweet that he is now a litmus test for a moral compass. He further addressed people associated with media that if they don’t call out Qamar, then they have no right to campaign for Noor Mukadam.

What is Noor Mukadam Murder case:
Zahir Jaffer held Noor Mukaddam captive and tortured her. He first used a knuckle buster and then beheaded her. Zahir Jaffer is the son of businessman Zakir Jaffer while Noor Mukadam is the daughter of ex-diplomat Shaukat Ali Mukadam.
Servants saw Zahir dragging Noor. But instead of calling the police, they called Zahir’s parents. Zahir’s parents called Therapy workers instead of calling the police as well.
When the neighbor heard cries of help and called the police, it was already too late. He had already beheaded Noor.
SSP Ata ur Rehman has revealed the trickery the accused Zahir is trying to play. He said that when we arrested Zahir Jaffer, he was stable. But when we investigated him he tried to act abnormally. Police in also investigating servants of their negligence.
When Judge Ranjha took up the case, police informed him that they have retrieved the pistol, knuckle buster, and clothes of the deceased.
Police said the investigation is going on and they have recorded the statements of the witnesses including that neighbor who called and the servants.
In Aurat March, which Khalil ur Rehman Qamar heavily criticized, Noor Mukadam also participated in it. Now her brutal murder is raising the question of women’s safety in Pakistan.
PM Imran Khan on Noor Mukadam case:
During a live phone call session with the public, a caller from Islamabad expressed concerns about the security of women after Noor’s murder. PM Imran Khan said we will not spare Noor’s murderer. PM further added that “it does not matter whether Zahir belongs to an influential family or is a US citizen, Justice will be served.” He further assured that he is following the case and accused will be given proper punishment.
All in all, it was definitely an insensitive comment by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar on the Murder of Noor Mukadam. People are bashing him on Twitter to even come up with this anti-feminism statement and relate it to Noor’s murder. However, the writer has tried to clarify what he meant but the public is not having it. Moreover, on the murder case, PM Imran Khan has also commented that he is personally following the case. He assured that the accused will be given punishment according to the laws.
