I briefed him on the steps we are taking to rally international condemnation, including tonight at the United Nations Security Council. He asked me to call on the leaders of the world to speak out clearly against President Putin’s flagrant aggression, and to stand with the people of Ukraine. Tomorrow, I will be meeting with the Leaders of the G7, and the United States and our Allies and partners will be imposing severe sanctions on Russia. We will continue to provide support and assistance to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.”

UN Secretary-General António Guterres appealed to President Putin to withdraw their troops from Ukraine. He said:
“Under the present circumstances, I must change my appeal: President Putin, in the name of humanity, bring your troops back to Russia. This conflict must stop now”.
Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, criticized the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which Ankara has defined as an offence of Ukrainian independence. Mr. Erdogan said:
“Turkey supports Ukraine’s struggle to preserve its territorial integrity”. He also said, “We reiterate our call to resolve the problems between Russia and Ukraine through dialogue within the framework of the Minsk Accords. We will do our part to ensure the safety of everyone living in Ukraine, especially our own citizens and Tatar brothers in the region”.

The U.S. and other authorities are disseminating a resolution at the United Nations Security Council to criticize Russia’s attack on Ukraine. They demanded an immediate withdrawal of Russian Troops from Ukraine as soon as possible. Sources said that a Turkish-owned ship was hit by a bomb off the shore of the Odesa but fortunately no one was injured or dead.
