A surge in Terrorism in the Southwest of Pakistan!
Baluchistan is located in the Southwestern region of Pakistan and shares borders with Iran and Afghanistan. In the last few months, a lot of terrorist attacks were seen in the region including the Gawadar Blast that killed two children and several Chinese workers. On August 9, a blast near the Quetta’s Serena Hotel led to the death of two policemen. A hand grenade was also hurled at a shop that was selling flags for Independence Day Celebrations.
Pakistan and China have been working together on the “China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)”, such heinous acts have severely disturbed the work. The government can clearly see a surge in terrorism acts particularly in the southwest of Pakistan targeting the security forces as well as the civilians. The officials must work on the safety of its people as this is a matter of national security.
