Petroleum Prices Increase in Pakistan by Rs12.03| February 16, 2022 : On Tuesday, February 15, 2022 Government of Pakistan dropped a “PETROL BOMB” on the people by raising the prices of petroleum. The Petroleum Prices Increase in Pakistan by up to Rs. 12.03 per liter. And these prices of petroleum products have reached a historic high estimated by sources. Petroleum Prices Increase in Pakistan
According to the official notice, petrol price has been increased by Rs 12.03 per liter and high-speed diesel price by Rs 9.53 per liter. The price of light-speed diesel and kerosene has risen by Rs 9.43 per liter and Rs 10.08 per liter respectively. With the latest increase, the price of petrol has been increased from Rs 147.82 per liter to Rs 159.86 per liter, high-speed diesel from Rs 144.622 to Rs 154.15 per liter, light diesel oil has been raised from Rs 114.54 per liter to Rs 123.97 per liter, and kerosene oil from Rs 116.48 per liter to Rs 126.56 per liter on February 15, 2022.

These raised prices of petroleum are like a bomb for the people. There is a very high rise in petroleum products prices. Noting the reason for the increase in the petrol rates The Finance Division explained:
“The prices of petroleum products are showing a drastic increase in the international market and presently are at the highest level since 2014. Despite the unabated increase since the beginning of the year, Prime Minister Imran Khan deferred the last review of petroleum products’ prices on January 31, 2022, and advised against the summary of OGRA.”

Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin had implied Petroleum Prices Increase in Pakistan, adding:
“The government cannot lower petroleum product prices artificially. Tarin had categorically rejected the idea of reducing petroleum prices artificially. He had said that prices of petroleum products can’t be artificially reduced in the country. If the international market witnesses a hike in prices, the government will have to shift this burden onto the people.”
