IGP’s Foreign Scholarships for the Children of Shuhada & Constabulary have been announced with amendments. The Provincial Police Officer Punjab has made the amendments to the Punjab Polic Welfare Fund Regulations-2022 with immediate effect. Children of Police Shuhada and Constabulary, studying in foreign institutes will be offered IGP,s scholarships. Foreign scholarships will be awarded one time in an educational career & maximum of up to two years depending upon the degree duration.
IGP’s Foreign Scholarships Amendments
In the Punjab Police Welfare Fund Regulations-2022, amended vide Notification No.1297/AD-Welfare, dated 03-Feb-2023 & No.18242/AD, dated 12-May-2023, in rule-18 under head Scholarship, the following amendments have been made:
Amendment/Addition
- Children of Shuhda & Police Constabulary who get admission abroad will also be awarded scholarships to continue their education.
- The maximum ceiling of scholarship is fixed for private institutions at home and is also extended to students getting an education abroad.
IGP’s Foreign Scholarships Policy
The above-mentioned amendment shall be adhered to as per the following policy criteria:
- Available scholarships will be awarded to up to 5 scholars as per the allocated amount for that specific year.
- Applications will be scrutinized & scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis.
- Students will apply on an annual basis.
Eligibility Criteria
- Enrollment in a foreign university
- Pursuing a full-time graduate/post-graduate program.
- Students should be engaged in on-campus activities.
- Students enrolled in distance learning will not be eligible.
- Having a degree in the specified field. (details are available next)
- Students should secure admission during 2023.
Specific Fields of Study
Students studying in the following fields will be eligible for the IGP’s Foreign Scholarships.
- Medical & dentistry fields
- Engineering
- IT/Computer Science
- Business, Economics, Finance & accounts
- Important social sciences such as Environmental, Public Administration & law, etc.
Prominent Features of the Scholarships
- Scholarships will be awarded at the maximum scholarship amount given to a student in Pakistan during one academic year.
- One-way tickets will also be given to the candidates winning scholarships.
- Laptops or study aids will also be provided.
How to Apply
- Online applications submitted before December 31, 2023, in online form will be accepted.
- Students have to fill out the form. The form is available at the Punjab Police Website (www.punjabpolice.gov.pk).
