Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Passed Away on Sunday morning as his health condition was serious. According to Radio Pakistan, his condition began worsening On Saturday night and he was brought to the KRL Hospital Sunday morning. Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan had breathing discomfort and then he was taken to the hospital. After that, his lungs started bleeding due to which his condition became worse. Doctors tried their best to save his life but they were powerless. And Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Passed Away at 7:00 AM Sunday.

According to the doctor’s statement, he died due to the failure of the lungs. Now the hospital administration is managing the way to move Dr Abdul Qadeer khan’s dead body to his residence. His Namaz e Janaza will be offered at Faisal Mosque in Islamabad at 3:30 PM. Doctor Abdul Qadeer Khan was the nuclear scientist of Pakistan and became a national hero not only in Pakistan but also in the Islamic World. He gave an appropriate comeback to India by conducting the nuclear tests in 1998. Because of these nuclear tests, Pakistan became the sole nuclear power in the Muslim World. Pakistan was considered the seventh country to retain nuclear weapons.

Reactions Over Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Passed Away

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his sorrow when he came to know that Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan passed away. The Prime Minister praised Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan by giving him the title of “a national icon”. 

“Deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. A Q Khan. He was loved by our nation because of his critical contribution to making us a nuclear weapon state. This has provided us security against an aggressive much larger nuclear neighbor. For the people of Pakistan he was a national icon,” he tweeted.

President Arif Alvi also expressed his grief over Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan passed away. He praised the nuclear scientist, adding a prayer for his soul. 

“Deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan. Had known him personally since 1982. He helped us develop nation-saving nuclear deterrence, and a grateful nation will never forget his services in this regard. May Allah bless him,” He said. 

Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood showered honor on Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, saying him as the “pioneer of Pakistan’s nuclear program”. 

“Sad to learn of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan’s death. He was a pioneer of Pakistan’s nuclear program and contributed immensely to our security. May his soul RIP,” he said.

Pakistan Muslim League (N) President Shahbaz Sharif praised Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. He also said that the country has lost a true patron today. He showed deeply grieve on Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan Passed Away news. He said, 

“Today the nation has lost a true benefactor who served the motherland with heart and soul. The passing of Dr. Abdul Q.adeer Khan is a huge loss for the country. His role in making Pakistan an atomic power remains central. May Allah shower his blessings on his soul!”.

Defence Minister Parvez Khattak showed deep grief over the news of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan passed away. 

“Deeply grieved at the sad demise of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan. Great loss! Pakistan will forever honour his services to the nation! The nation is heavily indebted to him for his contributions in enhancing our defense capabilities”. He tweeted. 

Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has confided in Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s death was a loss for the state. And the whole nation is sad over Dr. Abdul Qadeers Khan Passed Away news.

“The whole nation is saddened by the demise of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. His services to Pakistan are innumerable. May God bless him”. 

Rasheed posted an old picture on Twitter captured with Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan. 

“May Allah provide patience to Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s relatives and those who are mourning his passing,” he said.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar prayed for Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s soul. 

“Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan played a key role in making Pakistan invincible. May Allah grant him a high position in Paradise.” He tweeted. 

Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan’s Life in a Nutshell

Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan was born on April 1, 1936, in Bhopal, India. He passed his matriculation from a local school in Bhopal. In 1952 his family migrated from India to Pakistan. After settling in Karachi with his family, Dr. Abdul Qadeer attended the D. J. Science College. Then he graduated from the University of Karachi in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in physics. He passed his engineering degree from a university in the Netherlands in 1967  and then went to get a doctorate in Metallurgical Engineering from Belgium. In April 1976, Khan joined the atomic bomb program and served for the enrichment division.

Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan is considered the “Father of Islamic Nuclear Bomb” or founder of Gas-Centrifuge Enrichment Technology for Pakistan’s nuclear obstacle program. He formulated the Muslim world’s first atomic bomb. At a news conference, he verified the testing of the boosted fission equipment. He stated that it was KRL’s highly enriched uranium that was utilized in the explosion of Pakistan’s first nuclear devices on 28 May 1998.

Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan was the first Pakistani to be granted three presidential awards. He was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz twice and the Hilal-e-Imtiaz once. He gave an appropriate response to India by performing the nuclear tests in 1998. After these nuclear experiments, Pakistan became the nuclear power in the Muslim World. On 26 August 2021, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan was admitted to Khan Research Laboratories Hospital as he was tested positive for Covid-19. On 10 October 2021, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan Passed Away at the age of 85 in  KRL Hospital Islamabad. May his Soul Rest in Peace! Amen
