DJ Bravo is a West Indies Cricketer, and he is known as one of the best All-Rounders in the T20 format of the game. DJ Bravo is a former captain of the WI Cricket Team and also a previous Trinidadian Cricketer. Bravo was born in Santa Cruz, Trinidad, and Tobago, on 7th October 1983. Bravo’s father’s name is John Bravo and his mother’s name is Jocelyn Bravo. He has a step-brother Darren Bravo. Darren Bravo is also a cricketer. He plays domestic cricket with Trinidad and Tobago. He is a left-handed batter and his batting style is also compared to that of Brian Lara. Darren Bravo, along with Denesh Ramdin, set the record for the third-highest wicket partnership in ODI history. In the 1st match of the 2013/14 test series against New Zealand in Dunedin, Bravo smashed maiden second-century battle after almost 10 hours of batting to lead the West Indies side toward an unlikely draw.

DJ Bravo has two children, his son Dwayne Bravo Junior and his daughter Dwaynice Bravo. His wife Regina Ramjit is a model. She is also an entrepreneur and owns a boutique named 11th Street Boutique, which is very famous in Barbados. She is also part of the “Precious Teeth Foundation”, an NGO that helps underprivileged children. She won the 2013 Miss Barbados title and was a 2013 Miss World contestant. Since 2004, DJ Bravo has played 40 Test Matches, 164 ODIs, and 91 T20Is for Team West Indies. He was a leading figure of the West Indies side that won the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy, 2012 ICC World T20, and 2016 ICC World T20.

Domestic Career

At 10 years old, Bravo was chosen in the Queen’s Park Cricket Club Under-15 side and began bowling at 17. As an opener; Bravo had a lean 2002 ICC U-19 World Cup. Bravo made 31 runs in two innings in his First-Class debut for Trinidad and Tobago against Barbados in Busta Cup in February 2002. In 2002, he visited with West Indies A side in England. His productive 2003 season, particularly a ton and 6 for 11 against the Windward Islands carried him nearer to the national team. Bravo locally addressed Trinidad and Tobago and played for Trinbago Knight Riders in Caribbean Premier League.

IPL Career

Bravo performed exceptionally for the Mumbai Indians in the initial three seasons where he played 30 matches and took 26 wickets. Bravo was selected by the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the 2011 IPL. He proceeded to become one of the main countenances of the franchise alongside skippers MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina. His persona coordinated with the Franchise’s fan base. Also, he was one of the imperative pinions of Chennai’s victory. ODI Career

In April 2004, Bravo took two wickets in his ODI debut against England at Georgetown. In his third match, the West Indies ended the match with 12 quick runs in 6 balls. Bravo has participated in all West Indies matches of the 2007 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies. He averaged 129 runs at 21.50 and took 13 wickets at 27.76, but his economy rate was 5.56, which was a disappointing World Cup tournament. He was excluded from the 2011 Cricket World Cup in India due to a knee injury when he slipped at the wicket while bowling to a South African batter in Delhi on 24th February. He took a break for four weeks and was unable to participate in the tournament. Against South Africa, he scored 69 runs in 7 overs, including 18 of his first over. Bravo withdrew from the India Tour due to a wage dispute with the West Indies Board of Directors after the 4th ODI in October 2014, which was his last ODI.

Test Career

He picked up three wickets scoring 44 and 10 in two overs in his international test debut against England at Lord’s. He scored 77 runs and picked up 6 wickets for 55 in the 4th Test in Manchester. Bravo recorded 213 runs in two tests against Australia, including 113 in Hobart and 6 for 86 in Adelaide in November 2005. -Until 2013, the Indian Islands conducted their final tests in December 2010 and finally withdrew from testing in January 2015.

T20Is career

Bravo demonstrated his versatility by making his T20I debut in Auckland in February 2006 with a two-wicket draw against  New Zealand and a 16-ball to 19-run record. He made 154 runs at 38.50 picking 10 wickets at 18.40 in the 2009 ICC T20 World Cup. Bravo’s four wickets and 66 scores off 36 deliveries won the match against India at Lord’s. He then competed in all West Indies games at the 2016 ICC World T20 in India, where the West Indies won. His high-quality dead-end bowling is considered one of the main reasons the West Indies won the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup. Bravo became the first bowler to win 400 T20 wickets at CPL 2020. At the beginning of 2020, Bravo got a sudden recall from the T20I side of the West Indies. This was the year of the World Cup and another T20 World Cup scheduled for 2021.

In 2016, Bravo launched his first single champion to commemorate the West Indies’ 2016 T20 World Cup victory. The single was a huge hit in India, surpassing the charts. The launch caused rumors that Bravo would play in Bollywood. He replied:

“Jashoda Madhavji from my team is working on it and given her expertise, a film may just happen. I have been getting offers, but I need to find something that brings out the actor in me, and fans can relate to Bravo, the actor, just as they have related to Bravo, the singer.”

DJ Bravo has several plots. He replaced Darren Sammy as captain in 2013 but was removed from the captain due to a problem paying for the cricket board. In October 2014, when the West Indies stopped the India tour prematurely, Bravo was fired not only from the captaincy but also from the team. In 2005, Bravo made 107 runs during a test match against South Africa in Antigua. But his performance was overshadowed after South Africa’s Graeme Smith accused him of making racist remarks about him. The case was later escalated, but no evidence was found after subsequent trials, so the accusation against Smith was withdrawn and Smith immediately demanded Bravo’s apology. However, Bravo, with the support of the West Indies Cricket Board, refused to do so and received a lot of criticism from the South African press while receiving support at home as a human rights activist.
