Delhi Capitals made one change. Marcus Stoinis who got injured in the last match replaced by Lalit Yadav. Delhi Capitals played with three foreign players only. Steve Smith was not considered to play.
Delhi Capitals Batting
Delhi Capitals didn’t start well and lost their first wicket in the fourth over, Shikar Dhawan who is the top run-scorer of the Indian Premier League 2021 got out cheaply. In the next over, the second opener Parthvi Shaw got out of just eight runs. Delhi Capital scored only 36 runs in Powerplay and lost both of their openers.

Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant, two senior batsmen of Delhi Capitals, took the inning forward and built a partnership that help them to score a respectable total. Shreyas Iyer scored 43 runs and got stumped on the bowling of Tewatia. Rishab Pant scored 24 runs before he was bowled by Mustafizur Rehman. Hetmyer played a quick cameo of 28 runs with the help of five fours.
Delhi Capitals finished their innings with a score of 156 runs and lost six wickets.
Rajasthan Bowling
Rajasthan bowlers were quite good with the bowl. Mustafizur Rehman Bowled the economical spell and picked two wickets. Number one T20 bowler Tabraiz Shamsi, who played his first match in the Indian Premier League, bowled well but could not able to take any wicket. Chetan Sakariya also picked two wickets.

Rajasthan Royals Batting
In reply, Rajasthan Royals lost early wickets. In this game, they changed their opening combination. Liam Livingstone opened with Jaiswal. Both the openers got out on just 6 runs on the board. David Miller with Sanji Samson was the last experienced pair left to chase this total. But soon, Miller got stumped on Ashwin Bowling. Rajasthan Royals only managed to score 21 runs with three wickets in Powerplay.
Sanju Samson was the lone warrior. He stood at the one end but the wickets continues to fell from the other. There was not a single partnership that looked like they were in the game. Sanju Samson scored 70 runs not out but that could not help the team.
Lamror and Tewatia also tried to middle ball but failed. They both collectively played 39 balls and scored only 28 runs that made this chase difficult.
Rajasthan royals only score 121 runs with the loss of 6 wickets in their twenty overs.
Delhi Capitals Bowling
Delhi Capitals bowling is probably the best bowling attack of the tournament. They restricted Rajasthan royals by their excellent bowling spells. Every bowler contributed with their wickets. Anrich Nortje was once again fantastic with the ball. He was the most economical bowler and picked two wickets.
In this match, Ravi Ashwin achieved a milestone.
Avesh Khan, R Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, and Axar Patel picked one wicket each.
Man of the match
Delhi Capitals showed complete dominance by the bat and bowl and won the match by 33 runs. Shreyas Iyer was awarded the Man of the Match award for his brilliant batting. Delhi Capitals with this win are now the table topper. With eight wins in ten games, they are almost qualified for the playoffs. Rajasthan Royals still have a chance to qualify for the top four but after seeing their today performance it will be difficult for them to made comeback.
