After the powerplay, De Kock got out to Axar Patel. He scored only 19 runs on 18 balls. Mumbai Indians batters didn’t look comfortable on the crease. None of them got going except Surya Kumar Yadhav who scored 33 runs on 26 balls with 2 sixes and 2 fours.
Saurabh Tiwary, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, and Krunal Pandya (all their big guns) failed to accelerate the innings. They all had a strike rate of less than 100. Mumbai Indians finished the innings at the score of 129 runs on twenty overs with the loss of eight wickets.
Delhi Capitals Bowling
Delhi Capitals’ bowling was quite exceptional. The bowlers were economical and picked wickets with the ball. Axar Patel and Avesh Khan picked three wickets each. Anrich Nortje bowled a maiden over in the innings. He gave 19 runs and picked one wicket.
Delhi Capitals Batting
Delhi Capitals, in reply, started poorly. They lost three early wickets. Their top-order failed badly. It was the rare case their openers got out early. Delhi lost three wickets inside the powerplay. But then, Rishabh Pant came and tried to attack the opposition. He scored quick 26 runs with three fours and a six. But then he got caught by Hardik Pandya on the bowling of Jayant Yadhav.
Shreyas Iyer remained on the one end and he took the game as deep as possible. He made sure that he stayed at one end and didn’t gift his wicket by playing a wrong shot. He remained till the end and finished the game. He scored 33 runs on 33 balls with two boundaries.

Axar Patel and Hetmyer also got out and couldn’t able to convert their starts into match-winning innings. Ravi Ashwin held one end and scored 20 runs on 21 balls. Delhi needed 4 runs in the last over. Ashwin hit the six on the first ball and finished the game with five balls to spare.

Mumbai Indians Bowling
Mumbai Indians bowlers started the innings brilliantly. They took three early wickets. But the target was too small to defend. One partnership was enough to take Delhi over the line which it did (Iyer-Ashwin). Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jaspirit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Krunal Pandya, and Jayant Yadhav picked one wicket each.
Man of the Match of MI vs DC game:
Axar Patel was awarded man of the match because of his brilliant spell of bowling. He bowl 4 overs and picked three wickets by giving only 21 runs.
Delhi Capitals are now just one win away to finish in the top 2 teams. Mumbai Indians with this loss is now equal to Kolkata and Punjab Kings. These teams have equal points and one of them will qualify for the playoffs. Surely, IPL is becoming more interesting as it is about to finish the league stage.
