In reply, it was an easy chase for Chennai. Their openers showcased their skills and provided CSK the start they needed. Ruturaj Gaikwad with Faf du Plessis gave the opening stand of 71 runs. Gaikwad got out after scoring 38 runs. Moeen Ali and Rayudu also played a crucial role in this run chase. Harsha Bhogle tweeted:

Suresh Rania and MS Dhoni Finished the game for the Chennai Super Kings. After the flop Show of the middle Order, RCB bowling looked below par as well. Pacer Navdeep Saini was quite expensive along with the Sri Lankan Spinner Wanindu Hasaranga. For RCB, Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers who took 2 wickets. Chahal and Maxwell picked 1, 1 wickets each.

After this win, Chennai Super Kings moved to the top of the table and their chances to end up in the top 4 are almost certain.
