Ten days ago, Actor Khalid Malik broke the news on his Instagram while asking for prayers for the actress. He mentioned that the actress is on a ventilator and needs prayers, He wrote that,
Please pray for her health. The sweetest Durdana Butt apa is on the ventilator.

However, the comments section was fully loaded with prayers and well-wishes from fans and colleagues. Unfortunately, today the news of Durdana Butt’s death broke out and the industry is all sad. All her co-stars are heartbroken. Fatima Effendi shared her throwback picture with the deceased. She further mentioned that her memories not only belong to the media. Moreover, Durdana Butt was also her Montessori principal. “Always seen her vibrant smile. May her soul rest in peace. Ameen,” she said.
Azfar Rehman, one of her co-stars also posted a throwback picture. He wrote a heartfelt caption saying “Rest in peace my love, my dearest doodie.” on his Instagram story.
Further, Khalid Malik took the news to his Instagram and wrote a message: “The wise. The humorous. The insightful Durdana Butt is a special soul now back in His embrace”. Moreover, Xhalay Sarhadi and Osama Tahir also commented on the post and expressed extreme grief.

Durdana Butt has served in Pakistan’s media industry for more than 4 decades. Being a versatile actress, she has always won the hearts with her incredible performances. Durdana was born in Lahore, Pakistan on 9th May 1938. She was a well-educated lady and held a PhD degree in Ohio Educational Administration from the University of Toledo.
She is well-recognized for playing maternal and comedic roles. As she started working in her early 60’s. Initially, she performed in several commercials. However, her performance in “Fifty-Fifty” helped her reach the national spotlight. It was in 1978 when she worked opposite the legendary actor Moin Akhtar. Whereas, her character “Sultana Sahiba” in Aangan Terha was appreciated a lot.
In 1982, the legendary actress beautifully carried the role opposite Moin Akhtar in Naukar Ke Aage Chakar. She had the power of moulding into a variety of characters such as wise, funny, and evil too. She excelled as “Bibi” in the drama serial “Tanhayan” in 1985. Moreover, she also performed in its sequel Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay in 2012.
She also mentioned in “The Shareef Show Mubarak Ho” that soon after completing her education she was offered a chance to work in the police. Moreover, she also practised Judo Karate. Moreover, there is a list of drama serials and movies she worked on during 2010-2019. It includes Dugdugi, Phir Chand Pe Dastak, Intezaar, Ruswai, Balu Mahi, Parey Hat Love, and Ishq Positive.
Late Durdana Butt was not only an excellent actress but a humble and kind human being. Her drama serials prove the quality of her work. Unfortunately, she left the world and met her creator at 83. However, she gave her audience many reasons to laugh at. The industry will surely miss the legendary actress.
